Tire choice is the single most-felt upgrade on a daily-driven 4x4. The wrong tire can make a great suspension feel terrible — and the right tire can make a modest setup feel polished.

When all-terrains win

  • Mixed daily use with occasional trail or overland weekends
  • Highway-heavy commutes
  • Florida sand, fire roads, and packed trails
  • Wet weather and rainy-season driving

When mud-terrains earn their place

  • Deep mud, loose rock, and technical trails as the primary use
  • Projects where appearance is part of the goal and the trade-offs are understood
  • Vehicles that aren't the only daily driver
